Summary
CleanTrades provides tools for charting, research, and trade record-keeping. It does not provide financial advice. We are not your adviser and not your broker, and nothing in the product is a recommendation to buy or sell. Trading carries a risk of loss, and every decision you make remains yours.
1. We are not your financial adviser
CleanTrades provides charts, company data, and a place to record and review your own trades. It is not tailored to you. We do not know your financial position, your objectives, your tax circumstances, or the risk you are able to carry.
Nothing in CleanTrades constitutes:
- a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security
- an offer or solicitation to trade
- personalised investment, financial, legal, or tax advice
We are not registered as an investment adviser, dealer, or broker in any jurisdiction, and using CleanTrades does not create an adviser and client relationship or a fiduciary duty. For advice specific to your circumstances, consult a licensed professional.
2. We do not place your trades
CleanTrades cannot place, modify, or cancel an order, and it does not connect to your brokerage to buy or sell. You place every trade yourself, through your own broker, and your broker's terms govern what happens to your money and your orders.
Trade history imports are read-only. They copy records into your journal and never transmit anything back to your broker.
3. Trading involves a risk of loss
You can lose money trading. Using margin or leverage, you can lose more than you deposited. Trade only with capital you can afford to lose.
4. Market data
Market data in CleanTrades comes from IEX. Company filings and fundamentals come from the SEC's EDGAR system. This data:
- May be delayed. A displayed price may not be the price you receive.
- May be incomplete or incorrect. Feeds carry gaps, corrections, bad ticks, and outages. Corporate actions such as splits and dividends may not be reflected immediately.
- Is not the official record. Your broker's fills and statements are authoritative.
- Is provided as is. Neither we nor our data providers warrant that it is accurate, complete, or timely.
CleanTrades should not be your only source when a decision matters.
5. Company and filing data
Filing data comes from EDGAR as companies filed it. We do not audit the figures a company reported; that responsibility sits with the company and its auditors, and an error in a filing carries through to CleanTrades. Our own parsing and processing is best-effort and not guaranteed. For anything material, read the original filing.
6. Your journal is a record, not a statement
Your journal contains what you entered or imported. It is not an account statement, a trade confirmation, or a tax document. Figures such as P&L, win rate, and R-multiples are derived from its contents, so incomplete or incorrect inputs produce incomplete or incorrect outputs.
Reconcile against your broker's statements. For tax purposes, rely on your broker's documents and consult an accountant.
7. Simulated and hypothetical results
Some features replay a hypothetical plan against a trade you have already taken and report the outcome it would have produced. These results are hypothetical. They were not executed and no one realised them. They:
- are calculated with hindsight, using data whose outcome is already known
- assume an order would have filled at the modelled price, which real markets may not permit
- exclude slippage, spreads, commissions, fees, partial fills, and liquidity constraints
- exclude execution by a person, who may hesitate or depart from the plan
Hypothetical results carry inherent limitations and frequently appear more favourable than live trading. Past performance and simulated performance do not predict future results.
8. Alerts
Alert delivery depends on data feeds, our servers, your device, your network, and your notification settings. Any of these can fail or lag, so an alert may arrive late or not at all.
Do not use an alert in place of a stop-loss order placed with your broker.
9. Automated and AI features
Where CleanTrades applies automated analysis or AI to summarise, score, or highlight information, treat the output as a starting point rather than a conclusion. These systems can state errors confidently, miss context, or misread a filing. Verify anything you intend to act on.
10. Not tax or legal advice
Nothing in CleanTrades is tax or legal advice. The tax treatment of trading depends on your jurisdiction, your trading activity, and your circumstances. Consult a qualified accountant or lawyer.
11. Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Downtime, maintenance, defects, and delays occur, including during market hours. Do not rely on CleanTrades for any process that cannot tolerate its unavailability.
12. Third-party links
CleanTrades may link to third-party sites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CleanTrades and its operators are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the product, including losses attributable to data that was inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Governing law
This disclaimer is governed by the laws of [PROVINCE/STATE, COUNTRY], without regard to its conflict of law rules. CleanTrades is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME].
15. Changes
We may update this disclaimer. The date above indicates when it last changed. Continued use of CleanTrades after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
